Upward Basketball in Owensboro reaches their 26th year.

So, how did it come about and why should my child play in our league?

First Baptist Church of Owensboro began their first Upward Basketball League in January of 1998.  We provided basketball/Cheerleading leagues for Grades 1-6 for both boys and girls and a Middle School league.  In 1999, we formed what was called the Owensboro Upward Basketball/Cheerleading League and partnered with Bellevue Baptist Church, Third Baptist Church, Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, and the Family YMCA.  The partnership provided different venues for over 1200 kids to participate in an Upward league.  The partnership also allowed us to consolidate our resources in providing a Christ-Centered Basketball and Cheerleading for the kids in the Owensboro area. That number is 500 total today, but it is still one amazing basketball league, where the focus is on Jesus Christ and a good, all around league environment.
